Why Celebrities Like Hulk Hogen Get Caught With Sex Tapes by Lorne Caplan

Well planned career boost or simple oops!

Does anyone really want to see Hulk Hogan in a sex tape? Does anyone really care to even hear about the fact that he is in one? Is this how celebrities show their affection when they are with that special someone, even if it is for just a moment?

There are so many questions that we can't answer about why celebrities make these absolutely career killer decisions. Certainly, there are those that gave a boost to flagging careers like Nadya Suleman, Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton. Others who just seem to like to get into a legal battle or pretend that they never, ever would have let these tapes go into the public, like Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Lopez, John Edwards, Coli Farrell (13 minutes), Rob Lowe (two women and a man...), Fred Durst (limp Bizkit leadman sued for $70 million) and certainly the last category of those who think it's just cool and let it all hang out like Pamela Anderson (how many times?), Kid Rock and Verne Troyer (why! why! why!). I haven't even named  the other 50 or so that we know of.

Now we have to add Hulk Hogan to this long list of shame for whatever their reason for taking or getting caught, which isn't always their fault. So we have to hear about the sordid details of why this D level celebrity needed to take a sex-tape of himself and some poor, unwilling (or worse, willing) participant. This, like mist of the other celebrities sex-tapes will quickly pass into the trash bin although it is always curious to find out which angel they will be pursuing; denying they knew about it and protesting it's availability, indifference and proud promotion of their bodies, recognizing that they shouldn't have taken an x-rated movie and sewing whomever it is that is showing, or threatening to show it.

Is a sex-tape really necessary for a couple?

If a man like Hulk Hogan at seven (7) feet tall and over 300 pounds needs to tape himself having some form of sex, then who's going to argue? Well nobody, but it certainly reflects something about the mans intimate life. Rather than using adult products or simply enjoying their intimacy amongst themselves, the movie seems to have become an ideal accessory for these celebrities. Unfortunately, it seems that most of these people don't understand the basics of intimacy, romance and sex with a partner. Can it be that they are truly narcissistic and beyond help with a set of morals that have been affected by celebrity worship (misplaced or not)? Absolutely, but not for those stars that have had their privacy invaded by paparazzi simply for profit. We aren't talking about those unfortunates, rather those like Lindsay Lohan that are so damaged that they can't tell responsible, respectful intimacy from sexually visual vomit.

Then why do we keep hearing about these celebrities that can't seem to get out of their way? It would appear that they can't get out of their own way and will rather become an embarrassment than improve their career. Despite some like Tommy Lee ultimately cutting a deal with the distribution company that had the tape. I can't imagine they consider anyone else but themselves because these are public displays after-all. Do they have children? Do they have wives? Fans? Yes (shockingly for some of them) they do and that isn't me responding as a conservative person. I'm far from that, but it's shocking that these celebrities seem to live in their own bubbles without any regard for the consequences that they've seen unfold for so many of their colleagues and contemporaries.

Ultimately, Hulk likely is happy that his name is getting out there. We know his relationship is a mess (recently divorced), his children have their issues and mountains to climb and so many others are just like Hulk. A sad comment on these celebrities and on how their relationships are reflected to the public (intended or not). Let's hope we don't get to see this tape and that all celebrities focus on building their intimacy with their partner(s) behind closed doors and with the same enthusiasm that some promote all the wrong things about relationships.
