after-school snack.
"What kid doesn't love candy?" asks Larry Graham, president of the National Confectioners Association. "But candy is a treat or a snack -- not a replacement for fruits, vegetables and other highly nutritious foods that are part of
a balanced diet.
"If parents have the facts about candy they can determine when and how it can fit into their children's diets as well as help their kids learn how to make appropriate food choices."
