This album a little taste of reality, a soulful
infusion and a great escape from the confusion created by cognitive
dissonance manifesting within our population through current events. Its
songs bring you back to the basics of life, love and what is important.
Hal Ketchum's voice is velvet. His tone rolls into your mind
like a fine cabernet lingers on the tongue. The first song Small Town
Saturday Night was a big hit; it's a bit obnoxious when paired with
the rest of the album. The other major hit is the title song, Past the
Point of Rescue. My own personal favorite is Somebody's Love
which is a song about a man looking to cheat on his wife and his friend
can't understand why. His friend considers the man to be married to the
best woman on earth. I Know Where Love Lives is also
poignant because it reminds us that love is a person, not possessions,
wealth or materialism. |
