One of the wonderful aspects of adulthood well cherished with maturity remains our thirst for new, something different, something we can share. no longer shackled by the peer pressure of cool, we actively seek the unusual and when we find it, enjoying introducing it to our friends. Amazingly, music stays with us, even when other memories fail. We may remember nothing else, but the feelings attached to a song reappear well into our golden years. Our music tastes are imprinted at age seventeen. What we
gravitate toward for the rest of our lives comes from the musical exposure we acquired as children. Therefore the music you pick for parties and get togethers holds a special meaning. Your guests come from various backgrounds and tastes and if you're like me, the represent several cultures, faiths, backgrounds and experiences. You want music that sets a theme, most people will enjoy and also establishes an upbeat and happy atmosphere. Basically, you're seeking a signature, an audio guest to your party people will forever associate with you
and the memories your efforts provide. And you thought it was just music? Below I've included some of the albums I think will give your Summer celebrations heart and soul with a unique twist. Two of the artists, Vesica Pisces and The Twelve Girl Band are probably new to you. Vesica Pisces is perfect for a contemporary party involving guests from 18-50, casual, but not too casual. Jimmy Buffet manages the real casual, kickback tailgate style. The Twelve Girl Band selection creates a sophisticate, high class
atmosphere perfect for a cocktail party theme when you'd like something besides the standard Jazz or Classical Quartet. And UB40, can you possibly have a pool party without them? Reggae is summer. We've also included six additional albums we recommend but are not featured in this issue.
