It isn't often that a 2nd album coming after a first time success
surpasses the original, but Coldplay pulls it off and bypasses the
excruciating sophomore slump so many bands fall victim to. This
England based foursome has similar sound to Sting's early days with the
police, producing rock that is a little ahead of the current curve but
will undoubtedly sound just as fresh twenty years from now as it does
today. Without getting technical, Coldplay is the kind of music
Boomers and Gen X'ers grew up with, only a little more complicated while
at the same time, simplistic.
