Fool Me Twice
If you've had the opportunity to read James Risen's State of War,  you know the decision to invade Iraq despite it presented no direct threat to the United States was made when Bush took Office in 2001 and was conducted for three purposes: Oil, Israel and Logistics.  When was the only question.  You've also probably noticed that the same hawks, the same excuses and the same irrational ideas are being pounded into the American people preparing us to attack yet another country that is not a threat to us, but has oil and is considered a threat by Israel. What is frightening about this article,
unlike most pundits who have given opinions on Iran and our invading it, Cirincione really does know what he's saying and has the contacts deep to prove it. Though he doesn't mention their names, or the state whose flag they salute, the usual suspects dance between the lines...

Killer of 13-year old girl receives compensation, promotion in Israeli Army

The killer of 13-year old Iman Al Hams, a girl who was cowering behind a stone and positively identified as a child before she was shot, and then was shot multiple times to 'confirm the kill', according to the Israeli military transcript of the incident, has received 80,000 NIS (about $15,000) compensation for the 'trouble' of having gone to court.

Children Continue To Be Main Victims Of U.S. Occupation

The war continues to claim them among its main victims, while the health of the majority of the population also continues to deteriorate. In the 1980s, Iraq had one of the best health care systems in the region. Following the 2003 invasion by the coalition forces, an ongoing cycle of insurgent violence and occupation forces’ counter-attacks have significantly damaged the basic health infrastructure in the country. As a result, Iraq’s health system cannot respond to the most basic health needs of the population.

This requires the government know exactly how much you drive, when and where...this also hits the poorest members of our society hardest since they typically must live quite a way from work and commute to afford housing.

Israeli media condemn, discuss report on US-Israel ties
The Lobby is pulling out all the stops to squash this report and prevent Americans from discussing it, (Ironically a report which  exposes how the Lobby pulls out all the stops to enforce its agenda and prevent scrutiny). The CS Monitor and UPI to date have been the only publications not afraid to address the issue.  Everyone else, NY Times, the Post, CNN won't discuss this report or even ask the questions it meticulously documents showing cause and effect.  If the Lobby doesn't like it, nobody has the guts to discuss it.

Of course this avoidance proves exactly what the report says: that the Israeli lobby is such a force, our media, government and policies will sacrifice the best interests of Americans, (in this case America's best interests are served by an open discussion about a foreign nation's documented attempts over 60 years to enforce its will on our foreign policy at the expense of American lives, money and reputation) and how our politicians, media, courts and other influencers will continue act in the best interests of a foreign nation rather than their own, basically protecting Israel's rice paper reputation from rain thus avoiding the wrath of their lobby.

Actions speak louder than words.

Schools Cut Back Subjects to Push Reading and Math

What this article doesn't tell you: In 1840, before mandatory government schooling, the incidence of complex literacy in the United States was between 93 and 100 percent. According to the Connecticut census of 1840, only one citizen out of every 579 was illiterate.  What an eight year old reads today compared to what eight year old's read then,  philosophy, history, culture, manners, politics, geography, analysis of human motives and actions, all conveyed in data-rich periodic sentences so formidable only a determined and well-educated reader can handle it nowadays; in fact only 3% of Americans today read as well as eight year olds from the hicks in 1840.  Today's eight year olds and nearly 1/2 of high school graduates would be considered illiterate then. Could those simple folk have had more complex minds than our own?  Reading and most math was self-taught.  Most readers took about 30 hours to learn by themselves...that's it.

By 1940, the literacy (defined by today's Dick and Jane standard rather than 1840's high level comprehension) figure for all states stood
at 96 percent for whites, 80 percent for blacks. Notice that for all the disadvantages blacks labored under, four of five were nevertheless literate.

Six decades later, at the end of the twentieth century, the National Adult Literacy Survey and the National Assessment of Educational Progress say 40 percent of blacks and 17 percent of whites can't read at all. Put another way, black illiteracy doubled, white illiteracy quadrupled. We spend three to four times as much real money on schooling as we did sixty years ago, but sixty years ago virtually everyone, black or white, could read. --John Taylor Gatto

Make sure that the couple of hundred military golf courses around the world are well groomed, that the Lear jets are ready to fly the admirals and generals to the Armed Forces ski resort in Garmisch in the Bavarian Alps or the military's two luxury hotels in downtown Seoul and Tokyo.

What I can't explain is what has happened to Congress. Is it just that they're corrupt? That's certainly part of it. I'm sitting here in California's 50th district. congress  finally  begins to put American interests first by standing up to the  Israeli Lobby

You need to go half way down this article entitled '
A 'lite' plan for the enlightened voter' to get to the meat of this under the subtitle: Lobby in the Crosshairs.  Burying key information in articles is an effective way of getting the information out (you can say you covered it) to one group yet hiding it in plain sight from the rest.

From the Ha'aretz article today: "An aide to a member of Congress told the Jewish weekly Forward that apparently the penny has finally dropped for the elected representatives of the American public. They have started to realize that the constant harassment of Arabs is liable to damage American interests in the Middle East, especially in Iraq.

The group of neo-conservatives that pushed President George W. Bush into this swamp has become the punching bag of U.S. academia and media, and it was only a question of time before it became Israel's turn to pay the price of the battle waged by Richard Perle, Paul Wolfowitz and their colleagues in the pro-Israel lobby and its allies on the Christian right."

What this article doesn't tell you: Attempts are being made to punish, smear and discredit Professors Walt (Harvard) and Mearsheimer (U of Chicago) for publishing their report on the Israeli Lobby's influence on US Policy last Thursday.

The report is well done, well researched and well documented, leaving smearing the professors and attempting to paint them as fanatics the sole defense. We've read it including all the footnotes.   What it says is well known on The Hill and internationally as is the price professionally and personally paid for bringing it up. What is that price? Defamation, charges of fanaticism, withdrawal of advancement or funds, charges of anti-Semitism, sloppy research and errant conclusions all stated without examples (thou eluded to and never provided) since none exist.

The idea is to cast doubt on the research and researchers so you don't read it and others do not support it lest they too be attacked, an effective propaganda ploy if you don't know that is what those exposed by the report are doing.

If the lobby's defenders' accusations were truth, they'd set out a point by point dispute and show what is truth. They would want to discuss it on national television, in magazines and the papers and they'd want to confront the writers in public.  That's what people falsely accused do with truth on their side. The lobby cannot and their actions show public discussion is the last thing they want. Instead they've managed to keep it out of the American mainstream press (by stating the only sites and periodicals publishing it are 'hate sites' and 'anti-Israel'...discredit the source remember...) Without truth on their side, their only option, try to cast doubt before the American people read it and start to ask the hard questions. That should tell you something...like you might want to read the report and judge for yourself.

North Korea Touts First-Strike Capability :

North Korea suggested Tuesday it had the ability to launch a pre-emptive attack on the United States, according to the North's official news agency. A Foreign Ministry spokesman said the North had built atomic weapons to counter the U.S. nuclear threat.

Israel started the whole 'pre-emptive strike' game in 1967 but we've taken it to a whole new level by violating our own constitution. In this Minority Report scenario where we punish for what people may do rather than follow our constitution and only prosecute what they did, we set the precedence. No country needs a reason to attack us anymore. All attacks may be justified under pre-emption. Given our conduct over the past four years...pre-emption against us becomes a valid argument. Cause and effect.

POLL: 68% of (Israeli) Jews would refuse to live in same building as an Arab

Israeli attitudes and racism are the primary obstacles to peace in the Middle East. Change the attitudes underlying Zionism, which this article articulates and peace becomes possible.  Laws on the books enforce this racism but they're usually hidden. For example state marriages between gentiles and Jews are not legal or recognized. This law is hidden by stating only marriages by Orthodox Rabbis are recognized and they will not marry non-Jews to Jews or each other.

Because Orthodox extremists currently control Israeli policy, to be legally recognized by the state, Reform and Conservative Jews must be married by Orthodox rabbis as well, even if they do not agree with the doctrine.  This is like requiring a Protestant be married by a Catholic priest (or vis versa) or the state would not recognize the marriage as legal.

Neighborhoods and 93% of the nation is off limits to non-Jewish citizens. Non-Jews cannot work, live and often enter these areas because of their faith, (Christian, Muslim and others).  Reading this article, you'll think your in 1930's Mississippi.  You're not. You're in 2006 Israel and what it describes, these racist attitudes is the fundamental obstacle to peace on the Israeli side.  Polls done of Arab views consistently show only extremists, less than 15%, share this radical view of their Jewish neighbors. In any society you will always find an extremist minority (defined as less than 20%) for any issue.  The overwhelming majority of Israelis approving of blatant racism is what makes this attitude a major impediment to peace.

A Powerful New Voting Block Emerges
The Antiwar Movement Becoming a Political Force That Cannot Be Ignored

The one issue the anti-war movement keeps ignoring is how the Israeli lobby is a primary factor in the pro-war movement.  It's one thing to say a politician must be against the war, but if that politician, (and unfortunately the majority in today's US government fit this description) is an anti-war, Israeli firster, nothing is going to change.  The politician needs to be anti-war, pro-US Constitution. His or her focus must be on the US and our needs, only the US and our needs.  By being pro-US Constitution, passionate attachments to foreign nations and the ability to be manipulated by lobbies disappears. Measured against our founding documents, the politicians have a bedrock of values, much like the Bible works for its followers. This war is unconstitutional.  The strange relationship we have with Israel is unconstitutional and the laws creating negative freedoms, (lose freedoms to keep freedom) are also unconstitutional.   That's why requiring the politician adhere to the Constitution rather than a cause makes more sense long term.  If the anti-war movement wants to end wars for conquest, the core issue, deviation from the constitution needs to be addressed.  Currently, that is not occurring. Otherwise in a few years, history will repeat yet again.

Feingold Draws Little Support for Censure

This is an important article for two reasons
First the Senators attempting to dismiss it, including Lieberman are the primary hawks that pushed us into war.  Second because Senator Feingold was the ONLY Senator refusing to sign the Patriot Act. The Patriot Act destroys and undermines several of our constitutional rights.  When a Senator takes his oath of office, he pledges to support, uphold and protect THE CONSTITUTION of the United States from all enemies foreign and domestic; this includes the President and others using national emergencies to take power away from the American people.  Feingold is the only Senator who did his job that day in 2001. We know nobody read it.  He refused to sign something he didn't understand / read. His 99 colleagues approved an Act without reading it.

What is Censure?

It means to express official disapproval of the President's activities.  Basically to go on record that the Senate does not approve of something Bush is doing: abuse of power, stripping rights, going to war on false pretense...  Considering what we now know, why would any Senator be opposed to an inquiry in censuring Bush?  Unless....they are afraid it might bring up their own actions perhaps?

The Bush administration made plans for war and for Iraq's oil before the 9/11 attacks, sparking a policy battle between neo-cons and Big Oil. Insiders told Newsnight that planning began "within weeks" of Bush's first taking office in 2001. An Iraqi-born oil industry consultant, Falah Aljibury, says he took part in the secret meetings in California, Washington and the Middle East, describing a State Department plan for a forced coup d'etat. Alijibury interviewed potential successors to Saddam Hussein on behalf of the Bush administration

THE HOUR: More Pro-Israel Than Israel
Several US Congressmen are attempting to circumvent diplomatic relations with the elected government in Palestine.  Not only is this not in America's best interests, (which they are elected to represent) it slaps Israel in the face.  The motivation is adherence to AIPAC, the Israeli lobby who's former leaders are heading to court to answer for charges defined as espionage against the US in April. Through their influence, which is substantial, AIPAC has managed to keep this spy story under the radar even though it is the big story. On this legislation, AIPAC is taking its cue from Israeli extremists rather than the needs of the Israeli people. That US representatives are publicly shedding their duty to American citizens by promoting this foreign lobby's agenda should raise eyebrows and questions of fitness to serve. This article from the Jewish daily, Forward gives an excellent look why this legislation is a bad idea for the US and for Israel. See Article Below for the perspective of a former Congressman who did not cave to AIPAC on this issue.

Venezuela in Washington’s Sights
Chavez like Ahmadinejad does not like being told what to do by the US and is attempting to switch oil negotiating to euros rather than dollars...This would seriously undermine US  dollar value internationally but it would allow Venezuela, Ahmadinejad of Iran and other countries to begin to shed the yolk of compliance the US insists upon, (Read John Perkin's 'Confessions of an Economic Hit Man' to understand what is really going on here). Iran, Venezuela, Iraq, this is about money and control..  Saddam tried this too, switching to the Euro. It always starts with comparing the leaders to Hitler, which all three have been in the past year by our leaders.  Blair, the US's favorite lap dog is behind this 100%.

Darfur: Simplification and Moralization of the Conflict
The extremely complex situation in Africa's Darfur region is being ignored by analysts and by the commentaries published on the western mainstream media.  US media analysts deal with the Darfur issue only as an ethnic conflict, or more precisely as the “genocide” of “Africans” at the hands of the “Arabs”. If it is a fact that the conflict leads to massacres that cruelly affect sedentary populations, it is false to suggest that confrontation is based on such ethnic or “racial” reasons and that such a division is the cause of the conflict.

AMERICA SHOULD FIGHT MINORITIES

A lot of you write in wanting to know what is dispensationalism since we've identified it as a main issue behind our serial wars in the Middle East and the unwarranted support of apartheid Israel. This satire gives you a clear idea of what dispensationalism (Christian Zionism) believes, thinks and how unchristian and un-American it is. Though this is a satire, you will find the sentiments articulated through Pat Robertson, President Bush, Jerry Falwell and others promoting this agenda. Read with caution. Christian Zionism is about racism and entitlement, though they try to hide it by mixing up bible passages.  This satire reflects that racism.

US congressmen press for Iran sanctions bill

What this article is not telling you: Tom Lantos, Israel's main agent in Congress, wants to put the squeeze on Iran (and any country or group that Israel perceives as an enemy). According to the Jerusalem Post, ( and evident by his voting record and speeches) Lantos represents Israel in countries where the Zionist state has no diplomatic representation. Apparently from his actions he threatens them in Israel's (and Washington's) name.
QUESTIONS: 1) Why does Lantos, an avowed war hawk representing the southern half of the "progressive" city of San Francisco get a virtual waiver from the anti-war groups there? 2) Why don't ANSWER and UFPJ raise their voices against him? 3) And Why are Franciscans electing congressmen loyal to and representing other nations? Isn't that a conflict of interest...like treason?

Department of Labor rolls back whistleblower protection
The US Department of Labor has moved to dismantle whistleblower protections for federal employees who report environmental problems. Approximately 170,000 federal employees working within environmental agencies would be directly affected by the loss of whistleblower rights. Tens of thousands of workers in non-environmental agencies, such as the Department of Defense, would also lose legal protection.

Bush Administration's erosion of workplace safety
A study released by Human Rights Watch documents the Bush Administration's erosion of basic workplace safety. Avoidable tragic injuries are highest in the meat processing industry where workers now face a one in five chance of severe disability or death on the job-at employment that increasingly lacks workers' protections, benefits and decent pay.

US takes its OPEC seat

The neoconservatives at the Pentagon are abandoning their initial plan to privatize Iraq's oil fields and undermine the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries' (OPEC) oligopoly. Instead, they have opted to embrace an effective membership in the OPEC cartel-a position granted by US control of Iraq's energy policy.

Privatization of National Parks

Private investment is replacing federal funding as the Bush administration hands out private contracts for national park services, allowing investors to develop and sell a wide range of concessions, products, services, and entertainment to millions of paying customers-and retain the fees they collect. Through this commercialization of the park systems, Congress is slashing allocated funds for our National Parks. This means our national parks may soon be out of reach for all but the wealthiest.  It also means corporations can begin exploiting natural resources protected by the common good until now.

Challenging the mighty dollar

Expansion on article facts: Lincoln attempted to replace foreign loans with the constitutionally sanctioned greenback and was assassinated by Booth, who had strong ties to the International money machine pressing for centralized banking in the US.  Saddam in Iraq and Chavez in Venezuela both began the process of switching the currency used for oil from US to Euro. Iran is attempting the same...follow the money.  WMD's or $$$, which makes more sense?

Elite Troops Get Expanded Role on Intelligence

Expansion on article facts: The SS in Nazi Germany was formed from intelligence and given military training as an elite group designed to attack quickly, kill and disappear.   They were a country within a country. Read what our elite forces are empowered to do from this article and than go back and read Himmler's ideas for his SS.  Their purpose is to hunt down and kill citizens of other nations and act as judge, jury and executioner.  That's exporting a police state. It's also a good way to start a lot of wars and create more terrorism.  The NYT does not point this out.

Israel will have to act on Iran if UN can't:  "If the U.N. Security Council is incapable of taking action to stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, Israel will have no choice but to defend itself", Israel's defense minister said on Wednesday.

Iran has never attacked Israel though Israel has attacked Iran several times AND boasts over 600 WMD's. Who is the threat to whom again? This statement by Israel's Defense Minister should make it clear to anyone with an IQ over 60 who wants Iran invaded and for whom such a 'pre-emptive' strike would benefit.

CONSIDER THIS SCARY TRUTH: The only way for a Middle East country to be safe from an Israeli or US pre-emptive attack, is to have nuclear weapons. Israel won't attack nuclear nations, nor will the US.  Bullies don't attack equally armed opponents. They can bite back! By abandoning our values and following the Israeli Talmudic policy of pre-emption, the United States has insured every nation on the planet will enter the nuclear race.  They have to.  Without a bomb, we (The US) might decide to attack them too.  It's called self-preservation and we've demonstrated we have no respect for laws and treaties.  We only respect the bomb. Israel is the Middle East's problem but we are the World's problem. Given that, the story below should really scare you.

Having never been in a mosque, I thought that it would be an interesting experience but wondered if I would need a bullet proof vest or an assault rifle to protect myself during the visit. Attacking Christians, Churches and Clergy, (Catholic nuns a priests rarely wear their formal uniforms in public because the Israelis target them for assaults) Also destroying Muslims and Mosques by Settler's and Israeli Extremists is a regular occurrence in Israel...especially in the Occupied Territories.
