Reader Feedback to the
PAS: Parental Alienation Syndrome

I read Dr. Major's article on PAS and would like to e-mail her regarding a true, real-life court case, "my case", which happened in Sumter, South Carolina in 1996.

The mother, my ex-wife, was recently killed last month in an auto accident. I approached the same Court for custody of our sixteen year old son who is living with his step-father and was denied custody. The step-father/grandmother now have custody. The child custody case in 1996 lasted 1 1/2 years and PAS was recognized by the Dr. appointed by the Court. She said it was one of the worse cases of PAS she had ever encountered, but yet, the court looked the other way. I have contacted Montel Williams regarding my story. The Family Court system in South Carolina should be overhauled to say the least. I would like to contact Dr. Major and tell her about my case. I truly believe, as other Mental Health Professionals have told me, that my case must be opened to the public for others to see the Worse Case Scenario in PAS.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
